Grounding ring:
The grounding ring should be installed 4–6 inches below grade and 18–24 inches around the pool's perimeter. It should be made of 8 AWG solid copper.

Receptacles:
Receptacles should be in the correct location and protected by GFCIs.

Bonding:
Pool equipment bonding inspections ensure that the electrical and metallic components of a pool are connected to prevent harmful electrical voltage from reaching people, pets, and equipment.

All pool equipment and metal components should be bonded to the grounding ring and connected to the dwelling's grounding electrode system or a separate grounding electrode. You can check for bonding by looking for a copper wire that connects to the motor and pumps and then extends into the ground.

Wiring:
Check for loose wires and conduits, unfinished or poor workmanship, and identify all circuits related to the pool equipment.
