A home inspection is a comprehensive evaluation of a property's condition, conducted by a certified inspector, typically as part of a real estate transaction. It involves a detailed examination of the home's exterior and interior, including the roof, foundation, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and structural components. The purpose of a home inspection is to identify any existing or potential issues, ensuring that the buyer is fully informed about the property's state. The findings are documented in a detailed report, which can be used for negotiating repairs or price adjustments with the seller, ultimately aiding the buyer in making an informed purchasing decision. Radon
A radon test is a procedure used to measure the levels of radon gas in a building, typically a home, to assess potential health risks. Radon is a colorless, odorless radioactive gas that can ... seep into buildings from the ground and is a leading cause of lung cancer after smoking. The test involves placing a radon detection device in the lowest lived-in level of the home for a specified period, usually 2 to 7 days for short-term tests or 90 days to a year for long-term tests. The results help determine whether radon mitigation is necessary to reduce indoor radon levels to safe limits. Recommended for all homes where the occupants occupy the area within 6 ft of the ground (examples: bedrooms and/or offices on the ground floor).
